Avocado & Sprouts Pita

This pita is a perfect balance of healthy fats, protein, and complex carbs. The sprouts provide a nice crunch, while the avocado brings a creamy and rich taste. You can customize it with your own favorite toppings and dressings, and you can serve it warm or cold. This is a perfect on-the-go meal.


  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup of sprouts (alfalfa, clover, or your favorite sprout)
  • 1 whole wheat pita
  • Salt, pepper & lemon juice to taste

Optional toppings:

  • feta cheese
  • tzatziki sauce
  • hummus (try the raw hummus recipe!)


  1. Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop out the flesh and mash it with a fork. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  2. Warm the pita in the oven or on a skillet for a few seconds until warm and pliable.
  3. Spread the mashed avocado on the pita.
  4. Add the sprouts and any other toppings of your choice.
  5. Fold the pita in half and enjoy!
